The detector has three scanning modes.

The first scanning mode is divided into three more, according to the scanning depth: up to 1/2 inch; up to 1 "and up to 1 1/2". Switching between modes is carried out by alternately pressing the Mode button. There is no memory for the last mode used. When turned on, by default, the device is in the first mode. Each mode has its own icon on the display. The display has a nice green backlighting.
There is one more pictogram warning about the proximity of live wires. It is displayed in all modes, that is, you can search for a posting in any of the available modes.
To start scanning, you need to attach the detector to the surface to be examined and press and hold the Scan button located on the side on the left side of the case. The instrument will calibrate. Finding it at this moment is desirable on that section of the wall where the absence of wiring or other required elements is known. Otherwise, the device will exclude them from the search and will not react to them. Therefore, for more accurate results, it is better to calibrate at multiple locations. That is, calibrated, searched, made marks and calibrated again, but only in a different place.
When searching, the display shows a scale of proximity to the element, the closer, the more divisions appear on it, up to full filling when the center of the element is found, this moment is accompanied by a sound signal.
The most convenient is the first scan mode ... When a hidden element is detected, in addition to the main scale, additional arrows appear, indicating the direction in which the device must be shifted. The image shows a block of wood behind a sheet of drywall. An interesting fact is that the device can detect the same bar behind the OSB sheet. That is, when calibrating on a wooden plate, the TH210 Multiscanner from China continues to search for wooden elements.
Level detection accuracy. The only thing that is important to know in this case is the correctness of the readings at different depths of the insertion of elements. After the measurements made, the most correct and consistently accurate readings turned out to be at a maximum depth of 25 mm.
At greater depths, the device can find various structural elements of the walls, but with much less accuracy. The deeply walled up wiring is no longer available to him. In most cases, the range of the device is sufficient, since in many reinforced concrete products, the thickness of the protective concrete layer is the same 20-25 mm, and gypsum board systems mainly consist of one layer of drywall.
As for the other two modes (metal search and wiring search), in short, they are not needed. The first mode copes with all this. Yes, the search for metal works at greater depth, but it is not always accurate, which can play a cruel joke. When looking for live wires, it points to a wide enough area. You have to re-calibrate at the edge of this area, to reduce the sensitivity, and re-search. Also, these modes are deprived of indication by arrows, as in the first.
